Donald Trump and Kamala Harris will debate head-to-head for the first time tonight on ABC

Donald Trump has been warned of his "toughest challenge" as he prepares to face election rival Kamala Harris in their first live televised head-to-head debate tonight.

Hosted by ABC, the US leadership hopefuls will plead their cases to the world after a feisty election campaign battle.

Detailing her predictions ahead of the Trump-Harris debate, US Journalist Kelly Jane Torrance claimed that Trump faces a "tough challenge" against the Democrat candidate, and the media will be on the hunt for "any disrespect" he gives Harris.

Torrance told GBN America: "He's going to have a tough challenge here, because he had some issues debating Hillary Clinton.

"It seemed like he wasn't treating a woman with enough respect. Now you have him debating a black woman, the stakes are even higher."

Noting Trump's battle against the media in recent months with his legal woes and assassination attempt, Torrance urged the former President of the "one thing" he must maintain in the debate.

Torrance advised: "Especially amongst the media and the chattering class, they'll be looking for any disrespect that he gives Kamala. So the biggest thing for him is he's got to stay on message.

"Don't resort to the personal attacks - they don't really play well with voters, especially undecided voters, of which there are actually quite a few left, especially in those all too important swing states."

Offering more advice to Trump in how he should perform at the live debate, Torrance added that the Republican should make clear his policies to both supporters and prospective voters.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Torrance told GBNA: "He needs to stick to his message, and explain to voters how he will reverse the last four years of what he calls intense decline.

"He's got to fix the border, he's got to rollback inflation, energy production - that's another one he's big on talking about. And of course, that plays well in Pennsylvania, which is a big fracking state."

When asked how she believes Trump will fare in his first debate against Harris, Torrance admitted she feels it "is possible" for him to come out on top in comparison to the Vice President.

Torrance said: "His crucial thing is to stay on message, and I know he can do it.

"He gave a talk last week to the Economic Club of New York, and he actually just ran off the teleprompter. He didn't go on those usual asides and rants that he tends to do.

"So it's possible for him to do it. Will he do it again? We'll find out tonight."
