Donald Trump "might disclose" the private message from King Charles, GB News royal correspondent Cameron Walker has said.
The King has written privately to Donald Trump following his attempted assassination at the weekend, Buckingham Palace confirmed today.
Buckingham Palace declined to divulge the contents of the letter, however, it is understood to have been a similar message to that of Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The Prime Minister spoke with the ex-president on Sunday and expressed his condolences for the victims of the shooting.
King Charles sent a private letter to Trump
GETTYStarmer said he was “appalled” and that there was “no place” for political violence, while one of his ministers said the UK stood “shoulder to shoulder” with the US.
Speaking about the letter on GB News, Cameron said: "Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the King has written privately to the former president.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
"The message was delivered via the UK Embassy in Washington DC. Now, although the details are remaining private, I do understand that the sentiments been described are very similar to what Prime Minister Keir Starmer said to Donald Trump.
"He condemns the violence, expresses his condolences for the victims and their families of the others killed during the assassination attempt and wishes the former presidents and those injured a quick recovery.
"Now, although Buckingham Palace says it remains private, will Donald Trump decide to disclose what the King has told him?
"We'll have to perhaps wait and see. But of course, I think it was clearly an incredibly shocking instance."
A bloodied Trump was rushed from the stage to a hospital after the attempt on his life.
He wrote on his Truth Social media platform that a bullet had “pierced” his ear before he was dragged to the ground by Secret Service agents.
The suspected gunman was killed while the Secret Service confirmed one person in the crowd had died and two others had been “critically injured”.
Starmer said: “I am appalled by the shocking scenes at President Trump’s rally and we send him and his family our best wishes.

“Political violence in any form has no place in our societies and my thoughts are with all the victims of this attack.”
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage said he was "upset" but "not shocked" at the attack.
He added that he would travel to the US shortly as a "show of friendly solidarity" with Trump.
Farage also criticised what he called the "mainstream media narrative" and "liberal intolerance".
