His confirmation comes just days after he threatened to skip the debate because of the network’s supposed bias against him

Donald Trump has agreed to debate Kamala Harris on ABC News, a channel he has previously branded “the nastiest and most unfair”.

Posting on Truth Social, the 45th President confirmed his participation in the September 10 presidential debate against “comrade” Harris, which he said will be held on the broadcaster of “fake news”.

“I have reached an agreement with the Radical Left Democrats for a Debate with Comrade Kamala Harris. It will be Broadcast Live on ABC FAKE NEWS, by far the nastiest and most unfair newscaster in the business, on Tuesday, September 10, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,” the 78-year-old wrote.

His confirmation comes just days after he threatened to skip the debate because of the network’s supposed bias against him.

He suggested that questions could be leaked to Harris prior to the debate, and asked: “Why would I do the debate against Kamala Harris on that network?”.

Now, the former president has confirmed that the ABC debate will have the same rules as the CNN debate in June, which includes muted mics - just days ago the campaigns for both Trump and Harris clashed over the condition.

Harris's top campaigners had asked organisers at the network to keep the microphones running all evening in the hope that they could catch Trump out if he says anything controversial under his breath.

The former president reacted with fury and accused ABC of being “biased”, however, his recent post seems to suggest the issue has been resolved.

“The rules will be the same as the last CNN Debate, which seemed to work out well for everyone except, perhaps, Crooked Joe Biden. The Debate will be 'stand up,' and Candidates cannot bring notes, or 'cheat sheets',” he said.

“We have also been given assurance by ABC that this will be a “fair and equitable” debate, and that neither side will be given the questions in advance (No Donna Brazile!). Harris would not agree to the FoxNews Debate on September 4, but that date will be held open in case she changes her mind or, Flip Flops, as she has done on every single one of her long-held and cherished policy beliefs.

“A possible third Debate, which would go to NBC FAKE NEWS, has not been agreed to by the Radical Left. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

Harris's campaigners believe Trump, if allowed to speak unrestricted, wouldn't go down as well with viewers as their pick for President.

But Trump advisors have pushed for consistency, asking for the debate to be staged under the same conditions as the CNN event.

The previous debate back in June proved enormously consequential to the shape of the race.

Joe Biden’s shockingly poor performance raised questions about his cognitive ability and the 46th President decided to step down from the race, following a wave of public and private pressure from Democratic lawmakers and party officials.
