The 47th US President won all seven swing states in the recent election, beating Vice President Kamala Harris

Donald Trump's election victory was a "referendum on the media and the deep state", his son Eric has claimed.

The 47th US President-elect won all seven swing states in the election, beating Joe Biden's Vice President Kamala Harris.

In an exclusive sit-down interview with GB News, Eric Trump told Ben Leo that the entire family worked "20-hour days" on the campaign trail and they had "left it all on the field" ahead of election day.

Sharing the family's initial reaction to his father's win, Trump told GB News: "I was expecting it, but felt too superstitious to say it. We worked so hard as a family, my father worked so tirelessly - I was out there every single day.

"I was in every state around the country, it really was a big family effort. My father did the impossible."

Hitting back at the mainstream media, who placed Harris and Trump neck and neck leading up to the election, Trump stated that there was "nothing razor thin about the election", and it is a "vindication for the nonsense".

Trump explained: "This wasn't a small win. This was a gigantic win. Not in terms of just the electoral college, but he also won the popular vote by close to five million - it was a tremendous victory, and it is total vindication for so much of the nonsense that they've put us through for so many years."

Scolding the left and left-leaning media who put Harris so close to Trump in the polling, Eric told Ben that it was a "massive vindication" for the Republicans to secure a win, claiming people are "sick of the nonsense" of the Democrats.

Trump told GB News: "It was a massive referendum in the United States. People were sick and tired of the nonsense, people were sick and tired of the liberal policies, they were sick and tired of what was happening to our country - to our patriotism and our economy.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

"They were sick and tired of seeing wars break out all over the world. There was a massive referendum in the United States where people said we've had enough, and it was a beautiful thing to see."

When asked by Ben what the celebrations were like for the Trump family on election night earlier this month, Trump revealed: "We left it all out in the field, there's nothing more we could have done as a family. Every liberal station over here in the US said it's going to be a very close election, it's going to be razor-thin.

"There was nothing razor-thin about the election - we won every single swing state. It was a beautiful night."

Criticising how the left treated his father in the years leading up to the election, Trump admitted that it would have been "easier for him to pack it in", but he decided to "grind and work" and became the subject of "98 per cent of negative coverage in America".

Trump declared: "I'm proud of him. As a son, I'm really proud of what he's accomplished. Trust me, it would have been a hell of a lot easier for this guy to pack it in and say you know what, this isn't worth it. I'll have the greatest summer ever and play golf. I'll go play with my grandkids.

"I've got the best planes, I've got the best properties, I've got the best hotels, I can do anything I want in the world. And instead, the guy goes out every single day, 20 hours a day, grinds and grinds and grinds. They put him in freezing cold courtrooms, and yet he grinds.

"They tortured us for years. The way the media treated us, the way the government treated us, the way they weaponised government. They tried to impeach him twice, they raided his home, they pulled him off of Facebook and Twitter and Instagram. They tried to remove him from the ballot in Colorado, they tried to remove him from the ballot in Maine. They weaponised every attorney general against him.

"They made up dirty dossiers, they made up the Russia hoax, and a thousand other things that the general public didn't even see. And despite that, the people of our country came out and overwhelmingly voted him as President of the United States."
