Former US President Donald Trump "differentiated" himself from primary Republicans due to his belief in "not passing abortion restrictions", it has been claimed.
Trump's election rival Kamala Harris was met with pro-abortion demonstrators at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) convention, as she was officially declared the candidate by the party.
In the host city of Chicago, members of the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising took to the streets in protest of the Democrats and their proposed legislation.
Harris has vowed to "put into law the protections of Roe v Wade" and claimed that she "trusts women to make decisions about their own bodies and not have their government telling them what to do".

Discussing the latest from the DNC, political commentator Tiana Lowe Doescher claimed there is "not much that the Democrats can run against Trump with" in the election campaign, including abortion.
Doescher explained: "Because there isn't too much of a focus on the economy here, there's not a lot for these Democrats to really run against Trump with, especially when it comes to something like abortion.
"Donald Trump actually differentiated himself from the rest of the Republican primary field when he said he doesn't believe in passing a federal abortion restriction of any kind, early term or late-term."
Highlighting Project 2025 - a document created by the think tank Heritage Foundation which proposes to consolidate executive power if Donald Trump wins the 2024 presidential election, Doescher stressed that Trump has "repeatedly denounced" the document.

In Project 2025, it claims that Trump would "withdraw the abortion pill mifepristone from the market", using "existing but little-enforced laws" to stop the drug being sent through the post.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Host Steven Edginton told GBNA: "Project 2025 is a big talking point for Kamala Harris's campaign, but the Trump campaign says that this is essentially misinformation, disinformation, and they've disassociated themselves from Project 2025."
Doescher agreed, adding that there is "certainly a lot of disinformation and conspiracy theories" being carried through the convention.
Turning the discussion to external protests, Doescher said the two main issues amongst demonstrators were "abortion and the war in Israel and Gaza".
Doescher said: "At yesterday's abortion rally, there were posters that said Palestinian liberation is a reproductive justice issue.

"Voters specifically cite both Israel's war with Gaza, as well as the fact that Roe v Wade was overturned under Joe Biden's presidency, and they believe that Donald Trump's Project 2025 would somehow seek to enact more federal abortion restrictions, which the Trump campaign has said it won't.
"And so even though they pose both issues as existential, most of them that we've been interviewing at these protests will not vote for Harris."
Offering her verdict on the US election as a whole, Doescher continued: "This really is the identity politics election, which is kind of ironic because that's not shown in the polling.
"This election is really breaking down more on gender lines, but they can't capitalise too much on it when, as we've pointed out, Donald Trump has taken abortion off the table as a federal issue."
