Today footage has surfaced of Donald Trump predicting that Joe Biden will quit the presidential race and slammed Kamala Harris as "pathetic" in a furious rant.

Speaking to GB News Founding Director of the UCL Centre on US Politics, Thomas Gift said: "I think that this is right in line with what we would expect Trump to be saying in private.

"I don't think that anyone is surprised, which is probably why this isn't as much of a bombshell story as it typically would be for a normal president.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

"Trump has been trying to keep a low profile over the last week or so, simply because he's looking at what's happening to Biden and saying, if the Democrats want to self-implode, I'm just going to let them and not get in the way of that news cycle."

He added: "I think if he refuses to step down, then he's the nominee. I mean, there's really no other clear path to an alternative.

"If he does step down, then things could get really interesting.

"I think that we could see kind of all chaos and disorder break loose at the convention in August. It would be a free-for-all.

"That's what is the one factor that Biden is considering when deciding whether to step down or not.

" Because if he's not the nominee, there's just going to be so many so much sort of horse trading and backdoor deals and lobbying for different candidates.

"The Democrats could come out of the convention looking very disunited, even if they are kind of able, in the end, to rally around an alternative."

Sarafina Chitika, a spokesperson for the Biden-Harris campaign, wrote 21 reasons on social media arguing that Trump was the one who was "bad".

The release of the video comes as the Republicans launched a campaign attacking the vice president.

One advert said: "This November: Vote Republican. Stop Kamala."

However, Harris told CBS News: "Look, Joe Biden is our nominee. We beat Trump once, and we’re going to beat him again, period."
