Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson has backed Donald Trump's administration's message to Europe, saying nations must "man up and step up" their support for Ukraine.
Speaking about the Trump administration's approach, Johnson dismissed European concerns as "headless chicken-ism" and defended the US position on Ukraine.
Johnson said: "The Trump administration is clearly getting closer to deciding how they're going to solve this appalling conflict.
"You've heard their plans. I think there's quite a lot of headless chickenism, quite frankly, from the Europeans about what the Trump administration is saying.

"I think it's very important to get what that administration and what the US is saying into perspective, because they aren't looking at what Trump is saying.
"Looking at what Pete Hegseth is saying, they're not betraying Ukraine. They're not walking away from Ukraine. They're saying Ukraine's got to be a sovereign, prosperous country.

"They're saying that Putin can't win. They're saying that they'll continue to support Ukraine. What they are saying is that they want the Europeans to step up and do more.
"I think you've got to say that Trump has a very, very good point. Look at the graphs produced, for instance, by the Kiel Institute. Look at the sheer quantity of American weaponry kit that's gone to Ukraine.
"$65 billion worth, at least. Compare it to what has come from the whole of the rest of Nato, the whole of Europe. And it dwarfs it.
"So what Trump is trying to say to the Europeans, to us Brits, to everyone is man up and step up or person up, Europeans have got to do more and you've got to face it.
"The American people elected him on a mandate to to get value. I don't think Americans want to walk away from Ukraine, but they do want the Europeans to do more. And I think we in the U.K. have got to lead on that."
Vice President JD Vance delivered a blistering critique of European governments at the Munich Security Conference on Friday, accusing them of retreating from fundamental values.
Rather than focusing on defence matters, Vance stunned the audience by claiming European nations were censoring and repressing populist views.
The Vice President accused European governments and the EU of being "commissars" more interested in stifling free speech than providing security.

Reuters"For years, we've been told that everything we fund and support is in the name of our shared democratic values," Vance told the conference attendees.
He claimed he was witnessing "the retreat of Europe from some of its most fundamental values."
Vance specifically targeted the UK for imprisoning Adam Smith Connor over breaching an abortion clinic safe zone in Bournemouth.
He criticised Sweden for convicting a Christian activist and accused Germany of conducting raids against citizens for posting anti-feminist comments.
