Lord David Cameron has denied meeting US Speaker Mike Johnson as the UK heaps pressure on the Capitol to grant further aid to Ukraine.

Lord Cameron met with ex-President Donald Trump in Florida on Monday.
He later ventured up to Washington to meet Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State, and members of Congress.

The former Prime Minister pushed American Representatives to pass legislation stuck in the lower chamber to inject a further multi-billion-dollar pot of cash into aiding Ukraine’s struggle against Russia.
Johnson, a Trump ally, was seen as a key figure in unlocking the funds.
He refused to table a vote on the Bill since it passed the Senate in February.
Sources close to Lord Cameron told The Times that Johnson was unable to find time in his diary to meet Cameron.

Johnson’s office declined to comment when asked if the House Speaker had refused the Foreign Secretary’s request for a meeting.
However, the pair met in December during Lord Cameron’s previous trip to Washington.
Speaking alongside Blinken in Washington today, Cameron said: “We know if we give the Ukrainians the support they deserve, they can win this war.
“They can achieve the just the peace that they deserve.”

During Lord Cameron’s meeting with Trump, the Foreign Secretary and former President discussed Brexit, the upcoming elects and their “mutual admiration for the late Queen Elizabeth II”.
A Government spokesman said: “Ahead of his visit to Washington, the Foreign Secretary will meet former President Trump in Florida today.
“It is standard practice for ministers to meet with opposition candidates as part of their routine international engagement.”
