Humza Yousaf has come under fire after asking a group of Ukrainian women in Scotland: “Where are all the men?”

The SNP leadership candidate made a visit to the Association of Ukrainians of Great Britain on Thursday.

While posing for a photo with a group of women, he exclaimed “where are all the men?”

In a video, the women laugh awkwardly before explaining that their partners are still in Ukraine fighting in the war against Vladimir Putin’s troops.

Reflecting on the interaction later he said: “They of course were rightly saying to me that for many of them their families are not able to make it, not all of their families are able to make it.

“I don’t think any of the women were at all offended or upset.”

Reacting on GB News’ Dan Wootton Tonight, former Conservative Mayor of London candidate Shaun Bailey said: “He is absolutely not up to this job. The SNP will miss Nicola Sturgeon so much.”

Dan Wootton responded: “Go woke, go broke.”

Reacting to figures released that revealed membership of the SNP had dropped by 30,000 in two years, Wootton said: “The SNP membership, a third of them, a third of them since Nicola Sturgeon went down this ridiculous path of trans extremism, have said ‘we don't want to be a member of your party’.”

He continued: “Over 30,000 members have have walked with their wallet and they will not support the wokery.”

The party announced this week that membership had dropped to 72,186 as of February 15, compared to 103,884 in 2021.

Membership sat at around 125,000 in 2018, meaning more than 50,000 party members have left in five years.
