The Great Yarmouth MP said his former party has 'caused serious harm' to his reputation

Suspended Reform UK MP Rupert Lowe has written to Nigel Farage, Lee Anderson and Zia Yusuf demanding they retract their "false allegations" of "workplace bullying" and "serious threats" against him.

The Reform top brass had released a statement in early March alleging that Lowe "had engaged in serious workplace bullying and had made multiple serious threats to physically assault and injure Yusuf" - which the Great Yarmouth MP said has "caused serious harm" to his reputation.

In a fresh statement today, Lowe claimed the March letter "was published as part of a concerted smear campaign against me after I made comments about the party's leader Nigel Farage".

He also said that he has instructed his solicitors to send letters "asserting claims of defamation" against the high-ranking trio.

Lowe's statement reads: "On March 7, 2025, Lee Anderson and Zia Yusuf signed and published a statement on behalf of Reform UK.

"Anderson and Yusuf are respectively the party's chief whip and chairman.

"The statement falsely alleged, amongst other things, that I had engaged in serious workplace bullying and had made multiple serious threats to physically assault, and injure, Yusuf.

"The statement was read by millions and has caused serious harm to my reputation. I believe it was published as part of a concerted smear campaign against me after I made comments about the party's leader Nigel Farage.

"I have today instructed my solicitors Brett Wilson LLP to send letters of claim to Reform’s leader and director Nigel Farage, Anderson and Yusuf asserting claims for defamation.

"I call on the party, Farage, Anderson and Yusuf to do the right thing and retract these false allegations. In the event that they are unwilling to do so, it is my intention to issue High Court proceedings.

"Whilst I have no desire to litigate, I will do what is necessary to ensure my reputation is restored."

Anderson, who according to Lowe is named in the legal action, declined to comment on the Great Yarmouth MP's claims.

He told GB News: "We are not going to play this out in public.

"If Lowe wants it public, in the media, that's up to him. We will do it professionally with our legal team."
