The polling agency said the race still hangs in the balance

Reform UK is predicted to draw in more voters than the Conservative Party in Yorkshire and the Humber, according to shock new polling.

The poll, conducted by Savanta and Electoral Calculus, found that although Labour is likely to take the seat, Reform would likely take second place.

The data was compiled after speaking to 18,000 people across the UK between June 7 and June 18.

In Yorkshire, 51 per cent of local respondents said they would vote Labour at the upcoming General Election.

However, coming in second place, ahead of the Tory party was Reform which pulled in 15 per cent of respondents.

Rishi Sunak’s Conservative Party received just 11 per cent with undecided voters at 10 per cent.

The remainder of the voting share intention was divided among the other parties – Lib Dems/Greens/Other.

In the same poll published in the Telegraph, Rishi Sunak was also forecast to lose his seat making him the first sitting Prime Minister ever to lose their seat at a General Election.

The analysis put the Tories on course to return just 53 seats - with around three-quarters of the Cabinet losing their seats.

The Liberal Democrats are on course to be just behind the Tories on 50 MPs.

The poll predicts Labour would return 516 seats, with an estimated House of Commons majority of 382. This would be double that won by Tony Blair in his 1997 landslide victory.

Sunak is predicted to lose his Richmond seat to Labour, but Savanta warned that the race still hangs in the balance as a result of the close margins.

According to the Institute for Government, no Prime Minister has ever lost their seat at a General Election.

The polling also suggests that Penny Mordaunt, Grant Shapps, Suella Braverman, and Robert Jenrick would lose their seats.

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt and Home Secretary James Cleverly are also forecast to lose their seats, meaning that three of the four great offices of state holders would be ousted.

It should be noted that Savanta only recently started listing Reform among its list of political parties offered to respondents, rather than only being selected as “other”.
