After Sir Keir Starmer announced a £1.6billion defence deal with Ukraine, GB News asked its members if the Prime Minister is right to cough up the cash.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer announced the agreement on Sunday following a summit of European leaders in London.

The meeting was attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other key allies.

The lightweight multirole missiles, which can travel at 1.5 times the speed of sound and strike targets over 6km away, will be manufactured at the Thales weapons plant in Belfast, creating 200 jobs.

They are designed to take down enemy vehicles, boats and drones.

Starmer said the missiles "will be vital for protecting critical infrastructure now and strengthen Ukraine in securing the peace when it comes".

At the summit, leaders discussed creating a "coalition of the willing" to defend a peace deal in Ukraine.

"The UK is prepared to back this with boots on the ground and planes in the air," Starmer declared.

GB News members emphatically said that they did not support the £1.6billion package.

A staggering 78 per cent of the 2,806 respondents opposed the move, with just 22 per cent voicing support.
