'An unmitigated disaster!' Penny Mordaunt tears into 'incapable and appalling' SNP in humiliating Commons rant

The Leader of the House of Commons used her weekly clash with the SNP to accuse them of having an 'appalling' record
Penny Mordaunt has blasted the SNP for what she described as an "appalling record", claiming the party has been an "unmitigated disaster" in Government.
She accused the SNP of being "incapable, incorrigable" and "in trouble".
This came after SNP MP Diedre Brock accused the Leader of Commons of criticising the party for "clickbait" in their weekly clash at Business Questions.
Brock said: "The brief seems clear: to rubbish and insult Scots every week in business questions.
"Of course she's not alone, it seems to be Tory policy these days. But she's adding value now by writing full page articles in the papers about how awful Scotland is, along with the new clickbait video every week."
She added: "Of course, given the very bad news for her party in this week's YouGov poll, maybe these videos are in fact auditions.
"Perhaps not so much stand up and fight, as stand up comedian.
"Meanwhile, her own Government's record is absolutely nothing to joke about - destitution, rising doctors on strike crippling the English NHS, seacoasts fouled with pollution, inhumate treatment of asylum seekers and the breaching of international law, unresolved scandals piling up and the crushing impact of one of the worst Tory jokes of all - Brexit."
But Mordaunt hit back, saying she has been giving the SNP " publicity that money cannot buy".
In a brutal rant, the Leader of the Commons continued: "I'm not talking Scotland down. I'm talking down the SNP, that has been an unmitigated disaster for Scotland.
"The stoicism of the Scottish people in dealing with the inept government that they have in Scotland deserves great credit.
"She talks about our record on delivery and invites me to to make that comparison. Let me try and say this without mentioning the appalling record of the SNP and just invite people to contrast our record with theirs."
She claimed the Conservative Government has introduced the "largest rail infrastructure investment since Victorian times" and "18 million households with full fibre broadband" and "massive regeneration projects across the UK".
