Leader of the House of Commons Penny Mordaunt has spoken out in Parliament in support of GB News, after the channel was banned in the Welsh Parliament.
The Conservative politician addressed the house while speaking at Business Questions, insisting: “I shall always stand up and fight for this house and my country.”
After stating her intentions to "stand up and fight" against Just Stop Oil, the SNP and the Liberal Democrats, Mordaunt rounded off by calling out Labour’s decision to remove GB News from Senedd televisions.
“Those are the facts Mr Speaker and I can understand why Labour don’t like them, which is perhaps why they have chosen to ban some news programming available on Freeview to anyone operating in the Senedd.”

In a tweet containing the moment in Parliament, Mordaunt wrote: “In Labour-controlled Wales, news programming available on Freeview has been banned from the Senedd. Is it because Labour doesn't want to listen to the facts?”
GB News CEO Angelos Frangopoulos penned a letter to the Welsh Parliament and to the Senedd's speaker, known as the Llywydd, in response to the ban.
The statement read: "The Commission’s decision to remove GB News from internal televisions in the Welsh Parliament strikes at the bedrock of a free press and its role in a liberal democracy.
"An elected government that shuts out a legal media outlet, simply because some dislike or disagree with it, is taking a bold and dangerous step towards autocratic rule."
