Nigel Farage did not mince his words in a scathing assessment of Home Secretary Suella Braverman’s keynote speech at the Conservative Party conference.
Braverman took to the stage in Manchester pledging to take action on the “hurricane” of illegal migrants descending on Britain’s shores.
Speaking on GB News, Nigel Farage blasted the Home Secretary, accusing her of simply putting forward a “rhetoric” with no clear solutions for tackling the problem.
In the speech, Braverman warned that current immigration was “too high”, telling party members that she would “do whatever it takes to stop the boats and deter bogus asylum seekers”.

Former Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage branded the speech “gutless” as he questioned where the Government will go next as it bids to carry out its pledge of stopping illegal migrant Channel crossings.
“Lots of rhetoric, ‘there’s a hurricane of immigration’, but when it comes to solutions, nothing”, he said.
“She didn’t even mention the ECHR (European Court of Human Rights). We all expected this to be the big policy announcement of what is one of the biggest issues in this country.
“She has offered no solutions. It is the most disappointed speech from a so-called hardline Home Office minister we could have expected.”
Braverman said illegal migrants see the prospect of moving to Britain as an “entirely realistic prospect”, with more than 25,000 people arriving in the UK illegally via small boats in the English Channel so far in 2023.
Farage questioned how much of a contrast the Tories are to Labour, given the former’s assertion that Keir Starmer’s party are “worse”.

“How much worse?”, he questioned.
“How much higher taxes? The Tories have open borders, net migration is running at record numbers.
“I’m sorry, but it is absolutely pathetic.
“I don’t care about Labour. This is a Government that has been in for 13 years, asking for your vote.”

PAIn a withering putdown, Farage added that he felt Braverman’s speech is the “biggest failure” of the Tory conference so far.
Questioned by Christys on what Braverman “should have said”, Farage responded: “We will stop the boats.
“We will prevent an unnamed judge at 10pm, who probably wasn’t legally trained, from stopping that plane going to Rwanda.
“We will leave the ECHR and complete the Brexit process, we will have every sense of liberty and human rights in the UK, but we will be in charge.
“She has ducked this. This speech is the biggest failure of this conference.”
In an interview with GB News earlier today, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak defended the Government’s record on illegal crossings, saying the number was down 20 per cent compared to last year.
In her speech, Braverman took aim at the Human Rights Act, claiming it is responsible for the UK having high numbers of asylum seekers.
She branded it the “Criminal Rights Act”, adding: “Our country has become enmeshed in a dense net of international rules that were designed for another era.
"And it is Labour that turbocharged their impact by passing the misnamed Human Rights Act."
