Nigel Farage branded Matt Hancock a "pipsqueak of a loser" after leaked messages between ministers labelled him a "pub hooligan".
Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in the United States, the GB News host responded after he was named in one of the texts.
Farage had been put in the firing line after joining Donald Trump in Tulsa on the campaign trail during the pandemic.
He then had to quarantine at home for two weeks after arriving back in the UK, as per the official guidelines at the time.

In messages leaked to The Telegraph, former health secretary Matt Hancock wanted his team to contact the Home Office after Nigel visited a pub on his thirteenth day of quarantine.
His special adviser Jamie Njoku-Goodwin replied: “Does he count as a pub hooligan? Can we lock him up?”
Hancock then said his case should be dealt with “like any other”.
Responding to the leak, Farage called Hancock a “pipsqueak of a loser”.

He added: “In the name of coronavirus, governments, state governors in America, took away from US liberties and freedoms that had been built, defended, fought for over generations and over centuries.
“We gave unlimited power to people to lock us inside our houses, to tell us we couldn't visit our elderly relatives, to tell us in our case we couldn't even play golf or go fishing.
“No, we had to do what Big Government told us to do. This, ladies and gentlemen, is what tyranny looks like.”
He admitted he also “broke lots of other lockdown rules”.

He added: “When laws become enemies of men, men become enemies of laws.
“If any government ever tries to take away my liberties again like that, I'm going to be a rebel from day one, and I suggest you join me in that.”
