The GB News presenter does not expect Biden to secure the Democrat nomination

Nigel Farage has hit out at the US President after a gaffe-ridden speech resulted in one of his staffers stepping in.

The former Brexit Party leader said Joe Biden has become too much of an “embarrassment” for the Democrats, which will result in him failing to secure the nomination for the 2024 election.

Doubts have been raised over Biden’s cognitive competence after a series of gaffes, including one on Monday which saw his press conference come to an abrupt end.

Speaking in Vietnam, Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, was seen ending the briefing as the president rambled on while giving an answer to a reporter.

GB News presenter Nigel Farage has hit out at the president, claiming his public showings have worsened the US’ image on the world stage.

“Biden’s level of competence, or should I say incompetence, reached embarrassing levels in Saigon”, he said.

“I’ll make this prediction, Joe Biden will not be the Democrat nominee to run for the presidency in 2024.

“The Democrats are embarrassed by him.”

It comes as new polls show concern amongst Americans as the president vies for a second term, with a survey from AP-NORC last week showing that 77 per cent of Americans, including 69 per cent of Democrats, believe he is too old for reelection.

A Wall Street Journal poll out on Monday concurred with the findings, with 73 per cent of voters claiming Biden is too old to run again, including two-thirds of Democrats.

White House aides say his whirlwind trip from Vietnam to Alaska show he still has the vigour and mental competence for the task at hand.

Biden was in the middle of speaking and answering questions from journalists when he was interrupted and forced to head backstage.

It comes after the US President bizarrely walked out of a Medal of Honour ceremony last Tuesday.
