Wes Streeting has hit out at Susan Hall

Tensions boiled over on GB News as presenter Nana Akua warred with ex-Labour minister Denis MacShane over the London Mayoral elections.

MacShane had made the claim that the Tory candidate, Susan Hall, has been one of the most divisive candidates put forward by the party.

Nana and co-host Ben Leo were keen to press MacShane on his claim, with the latter asking whether he feels Hall is a “white supremacist”.

It comes after shadow health secretary Wes Streeting took to social media to warn voters off voting for Hall, claiming it would be a “win for racists, white supremacists and Islamophobes the world over”.

Leo commented: “What kind of language is that from a government-in-waiting?

“Calling people who are concerned about net zero, knife crime and teenagers getting knifed to death in our streets, calling them white supremacists.

“Has he lost his head?”

MacShane responded: “You’re defending her. Let’s be very clear.

“I don’t know why the Tories chose her, there are so many other better candidates.”

Nana hit back to ask him to “stick to the tweet”, adding “this is one of the potential ministers and he’s calling somebody a white supremacist”.

MacShane responded: “He will be in charge of the fact we have a great number of people in the country now from the Irish community, the Jewish community and now Muslims.

“They have different values and cultures and Susan Hall is the most divisive politician.”

Nana interjected to demand MacShane “answers the question”.

“Are people who vote for Susan Hall white supremacists?”, Ben Leo asked.

“She is a person who has constantly attacked the presence of Muslims in our midst”, MacShane responded, leading Ben to ask whether he believes Hall is a white supremacist herself.

“I think she comes pretty close”, MacShane responded.

Nana was perplexed by the claim before adding “at least we got it out of you” as she criticised the assertion.
