GB News host Michelle Dewberry says Jeremy Hunt's decision to invest £1million in a Muslim war memorial is "nonsensical".
Speaking on her show, live from Whitehaven, Michelle reacted to the announcement made during the Chancellor's Spring Budget.
Michelle told her audience: "I'm not a huge political, so I don't really understand all the ins and outs of who advises who to do what. But I cannot for the life of me understand who on earth briefed Jeremy Hunt to say, do you know what? I know what we're going to do right at the very start of the budget, that's we're going to tell people how we're going to change their lives to the better financially.
"I know what we're going to do. We're going to announce a memorial. I think it's absolutely absurd. And if it is indeed tagged to this notion of quelling extremism, what kind of extremist is going to sit there one minute thinking, I know what I'm going to do, I'm going to blow up an arena full of kids, whoa, no I won't, there's a statue. I mean, it's absolutely nonsensical."
