Former Prime Minister Liz Truss has launched a blistering attack on the British state, describing it as "deeply rotten" and warning of a "disastrous situation" facing the country.
Speaking to GB News at the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (Arc) conference in east London, Truss claimed people are "being thrown in jail for Facebook posts" while serious crimes go unpunished.
She specifically targeted the Supreme Court, which was created by the Constitutional Reform Act, questioning why judges were making "political decisions".
She added: "Why are judges making political decisions like which refugees should be allowed into our country?
"They shouldn't be making those decisions. What I'm saying is what's really important to me is that we're actually calling for that kind of change. The British state is deeply rotten."

The former PM insisted that whoever forms the Government in 2029 must "massively overhaul our country and overhaul the state".
Truss directed specific criticism at key economic institutions, singling out Chancellor Rachel Reeves as "incompetent".
She also laid blame at the door of the Bank of England, the Office for Budget Responsibility, and the Treasury, stating: "They're all responsible."
Her comments come as reports suggest Reeves is planning significant spending cuts of up to 11 per cent in some Government departments.
The Treasury has asked departments to model scenarios ahead of a June spending review, following news that the £9.9billion headroom from October's Budget has been wiped out by high borrowing costs and downgraded growth forecasts.

The former PM emphasised the importance of a movement calling for such sweeping changes, suggesting the current system requires fundamental reform.
Truss expressed particular concern about the handling of grooming gang cases, claiming "appalling grooming gangs who have raped tens of thousands of girls" have not all been brought to justice. She alleged these cases had been "covered up" by authorities.
Her wide-ranging critique of Britain's institutions comes as Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer prepares for his first meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington next week.
The timing of her comments also coincides with Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner's diplomatic visit to Ethiopia, where she is working to promote UK partnerships and economic growth in the region.
Truss had previously launched a scathing attack on Rachel Reeves, accusing the Chancellor of pushing Britain "to the brink of economic crisis".
In a statement released earlier this year, Truss blamed high taxes, excessive regulation and "disastrous net zero policies" for the country's current economic woes.
The former Conservative leader claimed she had attempted to address these issues during her brief premiership in 2022, but was "undermined by the economic establishment".
She said she was forced to reverse her policies before they could be implemented, following what she described as "a 24 hour onslaught from the mainstream media".
