Reform MP Lee Anderson has accused Sir Keir Starmer of “dividing” Britain.

It comes after three men involved in widespread public disorder in Southport and Liverpool were sentenced.

Speaking on GB News, Lee said the move only appeases a section of society and more needs to be done to address the root cause of unrest in Britain.

“We need a sensible conversation on mass immigration. It’s affecting the whole of society”, he said.

“These people should be locked up for committing these crimes, but these people are not being spoken to. If we don’t listen to these people and try and find solutions, it’s going to continue forever.

“We can build as many prison cells as we want, but it will continue to happen.”

He continued: “It’s dividing the country. It’s alright appeasing one side of society but he’s dividing us.

“I fear for the future of this country. People see these three men locked up then see the two men who beat police up in Manchester not charged yet.”

Patrick Christys pointed out that police will still be investigating the Manchester Airport incident where a man was filmed being kicked and stamped on by police.

Greater Manchester Police say the officer was subject to a “violent” attack while trying to make an arrest at terminal two.

“We are sort of, turning a blind eye to certain demographics in this country”, he said.

“We’re turning our attentions onto another group of people. These people who are committing horrible crimes and damaging stuff and setting fire to cars and vehicles need locking up, but it’s got to be fair policing.

“They deny there’s two-tier policing, we know there is.”

The sentences were an example of the Government’s “swift action”, Sir Keir Starmer said.

A Downing Street spokesperson added: “Our criminal justice system is showing violent thuggery has no place on our streets.”
