Cabinet Office minister Pat McFadden said the government will "have our own relationships" with the Trump administration

Ben Habib has declared that the Labour Government must "get on board" with incoming US President Donald Trump, otherwise Britain "will suffer".

The former co-Deputy Leader of Reform urged Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to enlist Nigel Farage's help with bridging the UK's relations with the US, after scathing comments from Foreign Secretary David Lammy resurfaced.

Farage, leader of Reform UK, has offered to help Starmer in "any way that he can" to "break down barriers" following the Republican's victory.

However, Cabinet Office minister Pat McFadden said the government will "have our own relationships" with the Trump administration.

Speaking to GB News, Habib encouraged the British premier to engage in Farage's offer, stating that it is "foolish" for them not to.

Habib explained: "If Nigel is going to deploy himself for the benefit of the United Kingdom, what he really needs to do is sit outside the Labour Party, not offer his services to produce a trade deal.

"The great thing about Trump doing what he's going to do is you either get on board with it or you suffer. And that's the message Farage should be driving home to Starmer."

Delivering his verdict on Trump's landslide victory against Kamala Harris, Habib admitted he is "delighted" by the result, and is the "best thing for western civilisation in years".

Habib exclaimed: "I'm absolutely delighted. For the first time for many years, we've got a leader of the biggest Western democracy, the most powerful, most prosperous economy who is going to turn his back on the internationalist globalist agenda.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

"He stands for a prosperous, proud United States of America with borders. He's going to ditch net zero, he's going to deregulate, he's going to cut taxes, he's going to propel the American economy. And this is the kind of thought process that we need our government in this country to adopt.

"If we are to survive as Western civilisation. We need to do more of what Trump is going to do for the United States."

Hitting out at the Labour Government amid their tensions with the US, Habib fumed that the party should be "exposed" for the "useless" government they are.

Habib stated: "It is not in the national interest for this Labour government to be given any cover whatsoever. They should be exposed for the useless party that they are.

"And I think it's political theatre that Nigel has offered his services to the Labour Party. Can you imagine, he would have to give up his own political views.

"You'd have to act on David Lammy instructions - I think that relationship would last about 30 seconds."

Issuing a warning to Starmer, Habib concluded that UK will be in "even more trouble" if he "doesn't sort out Britain's agenda".

He told GB News: "Trump is the best thing for Western civilisation that has happened in years. I hope he follows through with his rhetoric.

"What Starmer should be doing is looking over his shoulder and thinking, if I don't get on board with this, if I don't sort out our own civil service, if I don't sort out our own agenda, the United Kingdom is going to be an even more trouble than it is at the moment."
