Labour frontbencher in cringe-worthy gaffe as he says 'LABOUR to blame for squandering UK potential'

Labour's Peter Kyle made an embarrassing slip up at the Labour Party conference as he blamed his own party for the state of the UK.

Giving a speech on the main stage of the annual conference, the Shadow Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology accidentally said that the Labour party was at fault for the UK being "squandered" since 2010.

He said: "Our potential has been squandered by 13 years of Labour Government."
