Birbalsingh recently told GB News that Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson had 'no interest' in what she was doing at her school

Britain's "strictest Headmistress" Katharine Birbalsingh has been hailed from across the pond as American author and parent coach Erica Komisar has branded Birbalsingh's fight against Labour's educational reforms as "courageous".

Speaking to GB News at the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC) conference at the ExCel in London, Komisar threw her support behind Birbalsingh at a time when "society is moving against her".

Detailing her ordeal with the Labour Government, Birbalsingh revealed to GB News that Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson has "no interest" in the work she was doing at her school, the Michaela Academy, and was "horrible" to her at a recent meeting.

Birbalsingh told Camilla Tominey: "There was no interest at all in what we were doing. They were staring at us, being horrible to us, and refusing to give us water.

"We weren't willing to be fobbed off. It was obvious that they were trying to get the time to tick along."

Discussing Birbalsingh's fight against the reforms, Komisar stated that she is an "educational entrepreneur" and it "takes a lot of courage" to stand up to the Government.

Komisar told the People's Channel: "She's an educational entrepreneur. She's courageous, she sticks to her values. To be able to speak up in spite of the fact that society is moving against you takes a great amount of courage.

"There are certain places in America that are already trying to do what she does."

Highlighting how Birbalsingh's views on education may be "more welcome in some states than others", Komisar argued that education systems both in the US and UK should be "united" and not "segregated".

Komisar explained: "I think it would be welcome in certain states and maybe not in other states. We have blue states and red states, and I hate to say that because it's we shouldn't have it broken down in that way.

"We are meant to be a collective rather than segregated, which I think is what might be happening in society.

"And she's trying to say, we're a collective, we're a school. Our identity is the students of the school. And so I think there's value to that, and I think that message is resonating more and more across the board."

Making her feelings clear on Birbalsingh, Komisar praised the Headmistress for being "so well spoken" in "getting her message across".

Komisar concluded: "She's so well-spoken and I think she's wonderful at communicating her message. And as I said, I think she's quite courageous.

"I think that you're never going to get everybody to like you, and I think you can only be authentic.

"I'm Jewish, and my rabbi always says, just keep speaking the truth and be authentic to your values, and people will listen, but not everyone will listen."
