McClintock blamed the mass movement of people from red states to blue states on Democrat policies
Congressman Tom McClintock has warned that families are "fleeing" Democrat states, amid what he claimed is "rampant homelessness" and "rising poverty".
Hundreds of thousands of people have moved from red states to blue states in the US.
Republican states including Texas, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and South Carolina have seen major growth in the last ten years, but the trend escalated in the wake of the pandemic.
Speaking about the phenomenon at the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (Arc) Conference in London, the California Congressman told GB News: "In the states that the left has taken over, you see exactly the same social and political and economic pathologies.
"You see failing schools. You see rampant homelessness, rising poverty, sky-high taxes, chronic shortages of basic necessities like electricity, gasoline, water, housing.
"You see failing businesses and ultimately fleeing families.
"That's true wherever the left takes over. That is the result of their policies there - they produce very consistent results."
McClintock added: "I've said for years that California Republicans are still winning the vote.
"The problem is people are now voting with their feet and we're seeing that across the country."
Right-wing commentator Dave Rubin, who hosts political talk show The Rubin Report, told a similar story, blaming Joe Biden for the mass exodus.
Speaking to GB News at the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (Arc) Conference in London, Rubin explained that red states are more appealing as they've eliminated policies such as mask mandates and vaccine mandates, claiming that most of the "woke stuff" has been removed from schools.
Asked about the movement of people, Rubin said: "I was probably the most sort of public person leaving the communist hellhole of California and moving to the free state of Florida.
"And I took, obviously my family and my dog and I took two companies.
"And we're living in a free state that believes in law and order, that has removed most of the woke stuff out of the schools where businesses are flourishing, where there's safety.
