Joe Biden has formally announced he will run for a second term in the White House, asking voters to give him four more years to “finish the job”.
The 80-year-old entered the race in a slick Twitter post uploaded earlier today.
The video, titled “Freedom”, included footage from the January 6 riot and showed Americans protesting against the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade.
It was uploaded to social media four years to the day after Biden announced his bid ahead of his eventual victory in 2020.

Barack Obama's former running-mate, who also launched botched Oval Office bids in 1988 and 2008, said: “Personal freedom is fundamental to who we are as Americans.
“There’s nothing more important, nothing more sacred.
“That’s been the work of my first term to fight for our democracy.”
He added: "The question we are facing is whether in the years ahead we have more freedom or less freedom. More rights or fewer. I know what I want the answer to be and I think you do too.
"This is not a time to be complacent. That’s why I’m running for re-election."
Biden was not subtle in taking aim at former President Donald Trump during his campaign clip.
The property-tycoon-turned-politician, 76, who is the Grand Old Party’s frontrunner, was included in the launch video alongside Republican rival Ron DeSantis.
Biden went on to lament “MAGA extremists” as he accused them of taking away personal liberties and cutting the social safety net.

ReutersResponding to Biden's announcement, Trump said in a statement: "You could take the five worst presidents in American history, and put them together, and they would not have done the damage Joe Biden has done to our Nation in just a few short years. Not even close."
He added: "With your support in the election, we will defeat Joe Biden in 2024. We will rescue our economy. We will crush inflation. We will stop the invasion on our southern border. We will restore our Nation's dignity. And we will prevent World War III from happening. Together, we will all Make America Great Again!"
Biden joins a short list of current Democratic Party candidates ahead of 2024.

Trump has been joined in the GOP primary race by ex-UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, anti-woke CEO Vivek Ramaswamy and radio host Larry Elder.
Recent opinion polls suggest either Biden or Trump could win the next election in a head-to-head clash, with the latest YouGov survey giving the 45th President a one-point advantage.
Trump, who peddled the unfounded claim the last election was rigged, lost to Biden by just over seven million ballots in 2020.
