Britons have united in outrage at Nike's new England kit, with Tory, Lib Dem, Labour and Reform UK MPs coming together to condemn the change to the St George's cross.
Rishi Sunak today warned Nike against "messing" with flags, while Sir Keir Starmer last night said Nike should change it back.
The Labour leader said the new kit, which features a colourful St George's cross, is "wrong", adding: "I’m a big football fan, I go to England games, men's and women’s games, and the flag is used by everybody. It is a unifier. It doesn’t need to be changed. We just need to be proud of it."
Speaking in Derbyshire this morning, the Prime Minister said he "prefers the original” England shirt.

He said: “Obviously I prefer the original, and my general view is that when it comes to our national flags, we shouldn’t mess with them.
“Because they are a source of pride, identity, who we are, and they’re perfect as they are.”
Meanwhile, Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer said the rainbow cross on England football shirts are "pointless and unnecessary".
She wrote on X: "Fans should always come first, and it’s clear that this is not what fans want. Our national heritage - including St George’s Cross - brings us together. Toying with it is pointless and unnecessary."

Meanwhile, Tory mayoral candidate Susan Hall said: “This is very strange from Nike.
"They’ve shown a lack of understanding of the importance of the St. George’s Cross to all England football fans.
"They need to redesign the shirt and reissue as soon as possible to honour our history and tradition."
Leader of the House of Commons has offered to collect complaints about the new England kit and pass them on to Nike.
She said: "Damn right. I know many people will have strong feelings on this. Sometimes it is hard to get your complaint heard by companies like Nike. If you are from Portsmouth North email me...and I will make sure your concerns are listened to by the company alongside mine."
A Liberal Democrat source told GB News: "It seems a bit odd to change the colours of a nation's flag on a football shirt, and it should be changed back. We are also worried that these shirts cost £125 in the middle of a cost of living crisis."

The new kits will "celebrate football heroes of the past with a modern twist", Nike said when they were announced. They said the change was a "playful update to unite and inspire".
In a statement today, the sportswear brand said: "The England 2024 Home kit disrupts history with a modern take on a classic.
"The trim on the cuffs takes its cues from the training gear worn by England’s 1966 heroes, with a gradient of blues and reds topped with purple.
"The same colours also feature an interpretation of the flag of St. George on the back of the collar."
But Reform UK MP Lee Anderson told the Express: "The left has the nerve to ask me why I want my country back.
"This virtue signalling, namby-pamby, pearl-clutching woke nonsense must stop.
"Any more of this and I'll be on the first flight to Rwanda."
James Hayward added: "I don't understand why people at all should want to change any of our heritage."

Voters in Nottingham also piled in on Nike, with many expressing outrage at the change.
Reece McGarry, 30, from Leeds, told GB News: "I don't really like it, I think it should have stayed all red, we're England. It should have stayed the St George's flag - red."
While James Hayward added: "I don't understand why people at all should want to change any of our heritage.
"Those lads will be going out representing England. If you put a different colour into the Irish shirt, or the Scottish shirt or the Welsh shirt, all hell would have let loose.
"I can't understand this situation... It's got a lot to do with woke. I can't understand why we'd even consider it. We're representing England. I'm very disappointed."
Speaking to GB News this morning, Tory MP Ben Everitt also hit out at Nike, asking: "What other country in the world would accept this?"
He described the decision as "bonkers", saying Nike should "do one and mess with somebody else's flag".
