Discussing Miliband's performance as Energy Secretary since last July, broadcaster Mike Parry fumed: "I think that he is economically illiterate, I think he is energy illiterate. "Miliband's ridiculous boast that he will rob £300 a year off the energy bills of every household in this country has three times now been proven to be wrong.
"How long can a responsible Prime Minister allow this man to go on with his deluded net zero policy, which is going to bankrupt this country, put people into energy poverty and possibly bankrupt us?"
Defending Miliband, former Labour MP Stephen Pound claimed that the Labour minister is "thinking about the future of this country" and "energy security".
Pound told GB News: "Firstly, we won't even know what the price rise is until the energy cap will be raised till next week. Ed Miliband is thinking about the future of this country.
"If we do not have energy security, energy self-sufficiency. We're at the mercy of the tides of war."

Hitting back at Pound, Parry claimed that Britain is "at the mercy of the Chinese" for "planting huge windmills in the North Sea".
Parry explained: "We're at the mercy of the Chinese. The Chinese are buying all these huge windmills which they're going to plant in the North Sea.
"Billions of pounds of more subsidies are going to Drax Power Station, which does more for pollution in this country than any coal fired power station, and those trees come from Canada."
Noting how Britain needs to be "energy self-sufficient" and push to use "renewables" as the main source of energy.

Pound told GB News: "There was one day last year when we had a whole day's electricity generated by renewables, and there will be two days and then three days and more.
"As far as I'm concerned, Ed Miliband is thinking about the future. He's not just thinking about the planet's future, he's thinking about our economy, our energy security."
Parry then concluded: "We found another massive gas field under Lincolnshire which could keep us going for 10 years. The statement from Ed Miliband was we will never go back to fracking. He's ruled it out completely.
"So you've punctured your own argument, I'm afraid."
