Britons have to "fight back" against "woke" efforts by UK public bodies trying to "erase" Easter, a Tory frontbencher has said.
Andrew Rosindell, MP for Romford, also said he wanted to see the union flag flown from every school and public building, with assemblies required to sing the National Anthem to promote British culture.
He told GB News: "There is a sort of like attitude now that every other culture, every other religion can be celebrated. But we've got to be embarrassed about our own.
"And I just think that we have to reverse this. There has to be a fight back."

Speaking to today's Chopper's Political Podcast, the Shadow Foreign Affairs Minister explained how he had to intervene last week in the House of Commons after the authorities changed the name of the traditional "Easter Adjournment debate" to a "General Debate", with no mention of Easter at all.
Rosindell persuaded the authorities to restore the Easter title, but he said: "Sadly, so many of our institutions are now almost erasing our Christian heritage from all that we do.
"And I raised it in Parliament last week about the Easter adjournment debate."
Rosindell said that he had seen evidence of companies and public bodies trying to remove language about Easter from the public space.

He said: "This is going on everywhere. And look - I know it's a bit silly - but Easter eggs in all the shops, very few of them actually say Easter now."
The Romford MP told presenter Christopher Hope: "You and I that grew up understanding the importance of this part of our heritage and culture. It's not just about faith. Faith is vital. It's very important.
"But not everyone is a Christian and not everyone wants to go to church, but it's still part of our culture. We are a Christian country, both in terms of our religious faith traditionally, but also our culture.
"And if we discard those traditions, and if we don't cherish them and look after them, then we're creating a vacuum. And what's going to replace those traditions?"
Rosindell said that he saw "this political correctness getting more and more extreme", adding: "And now we have the woke craziness, which is invading every area of our lives."

"We have to fight back and we have to crush it because it's just undermining everything," Rosindell explained.
"That's that's great about our country. I like what Donald Trump has done in the United States. He's completely erased the woke agenda from all areas of government. And I think the next Conservative Government needs to do exactly the same thing."
Rosindell said he always wore a union flag badge and said he wanted to see the flag flown more from schools and public buildings.
He said: "I think that we should fly the Union flag from all public buildings and schools. I'd like to see all schools fly that. And I'd like to see the national anthem sung in assemblies in schools as well."
Rosindell also called for St George's Day - Wednesday April 23 - to be a Bank Holiday, suggesting that the May Bank Holiday is "could be dumped and we have St George's Day instead".
