Donald Trump has backed Nigel Farage for success at the upcoming General Election.

The man bidding to win a second term in the White House sent his ally a message of encouragement upon learning of his participation.


Farage will be standing for Reform in the Clacton constituency as the party leader.

In an appearance on Newsmax last night, Trump found out about Farage’s decision to stand before backing him for success.

“I didn’t know [he was standing] until just now”, he said.

“He is a great guy and he will do very well. I thought he should have run a long time ago. He would have done very well.

“He is a very powerful voice over there and he was responsible for Brexit.

“He will do very well. I was surprised he didn’t run years ago. He is a force and he will do very well.”

Farage recently spoke out in support for Trump after the former US President was convicted on 34 charges of falsifying business records in New York.

Writing on social media, the 60-year-old said he now expects Trump to “win big” at this year’s US presidential election.

“This verdict is a disgrace”, he added.

Trump could be jailed for up to four years and face thousands of dollars in fines.

The charges were in relation to 34 business records to cover up a hush-money payment to former porn star Stormy Daniels.

Speaking after the verdict was delivered, Trump told reporters outside the New York courthouse that he is a “very innocent man”.

Despite Trump’s legal concerns, he took time out of his schedule to send his well-wishes to his long term ally.

Farage announced this week he will be U-turning on his previous decision not to stand at the upcoming General Election.

Yesterday, He set about in his bid to convince Clacton locals to cast their vote in his favour by visiting the seaside town.

The former Ukip boss was greeted with cheers but not all were pleased to see the 60-year-old.

One pelted a milkshake at Farage shortly after he left a pub.

A 25-year-old woman is now facing an assault charge after the incident.
