There have been suggestions that Reform is splitting the vote

Ann Widdecombe says Reform won’t be stepping aside to help the Tories.

Speaking to GB News about suggestions Reform should stand back to boost Rishi Sunak’s chances against Keir Starmer, she said: “I hear this argument all the time.

"And they say, Well, we're splitting the Tories excuse me, and I'm looking around. I'm trying to find these Tories because I don't see any Tories. We have a red opposition, we have a pink government.

"Now what Reform is offering is genuine common sense policies. And what would have been the old Conservative policies? That's what we're offering. And frankly, as I say, we heard this argument before we fell for it in the last general election. We ain't falling for it again.”

Her comments come after Nigel Farage said he was still undecided as to whether he will make a return to frontline politics.

Speaking to GBNews in the wake of last night’s by-election results, he said: “Everyone speculates when I will come back as leader of Reform. I might do it. I might not. I don't know. My big fear would be to come back and get 5 million votes and three seats. If I see a really historic opportunity to go in and to win a large number of seats and to replace the Conservative Party well, I probably will. But I'm not sure

Mr Farage, who presents a show on GBNews, continued: ““I enjoy my life at GB news. I have the good luck to Gen Kitchen. She's now the Labour MP. But I mean, that wasn't a speech that was reading off a sheet of paper. And it kind of sums up I think, how low grade our politics is becoming.

We've almost got a quasi presidential system now. What were people in Wellingborough voting on? They weren't really voting on the local candidates very much. They're voting on national perception of how they see things.”
