Keir Starmer has come under pressure to kick out Labour members of a WhatsApp group featuring messages that were misogynistic and anti-Semitic in nature.
The latest scandal to hit Labour involves MPs engaging in shocking comments regarding constituents and others in a WhatsApp group named 'Trigger Me Timbers'.
Burnley MP Oliver Ryan had admitted sending "unacceptable" messages into the WhatsApp group whilst former Health Minister Andrew Gwynne who created the group was forced to resign.
Political commentator Theo Usherwood criticised the nature of the comments, which featured alleged sexism and antisemitism, saying it appears antisemitism is "still rife" within Government.
Usherwood went on to say "Keir Starmer was very clear that when he took over from Jeremy Corbyn, he was going to root out antisemitism within the Labour Party. Going by this WhatsApp group, the antisemitism is still rife within parts of the Labour Party, and I think also misogyny as well."
A Government spokesman said Sir Keir Starmer "will not hesitate to take action against any minister who fails to meet these standards".
