A London school could be 'forced' to close on Monday due to teachers celebrating Eid.

GB News has exclusively revealed that an East London school may close due to celebrations for the Islamic festival of Eid.

In a letter sent by the Headteacher of the Robert Clark School of Science in Dagenham to parents of pupils it said "We expect that a significant portion of our staff will submit requests to leave, which will subsequently create a challenge in maintaining adequate staffing levels to ensure the health, safety and smooth operation of the school for our pupils."

The school said they are "exploring all options" to stay open and a spokesperson for the comprehensive confirmed to GB News that a decision will be made on Friday.

Eid al-Fitr, also known as the 'festival of breaking the fast', marks the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting for Muslims.
