A few days before the US election I tweeted that, if people could not decide whom to support, all they need do is see the panic in which the EU and Starmer discuss a Trump win.
They are right to panic because he stands against all their ludicrous projects.
Donald Trump is set to put the interests of the United States first
GB News
Here is a quick synopsis (for EU also read Starmer):
- The EU wants open borders; Trump wants strong border control
- The EU wants nut case economically crippling Net Zero; Trump wants energy independence and economic growth
- The EU stands for regulations, taxes and spending on steroids; Trump wants deregulation, lower taxes and less spending
- The EU wants to buy cheap tat from China even if that compromises geopolitical security; Trump wants China back in its box and will impose tariffs
- The EU wants continued war in Ukraine; Trump wants peace
- The EU wants Israel to back-off and let Iran off the hook; Trump has long recognised the threat from Iran
- The EU wants the protection of NATO but does not want to pay for it; Trump will require them to do so
- The EU is high on woke and identity politics; Trump wants woke dead.
I could go on but you get the picture.
In short, Trump is going to do that which the European Union and Starmer loathe, put first the interests of the United States of America.
It is a quaint but no longer practised tradition in Europe for elected representatives to represent their people.
Brussels is anti the existence of all its member states and Starmer is anti-British. I hope Trump follows through on all his initiatives.
Presidents are often neutered from doing so by not controlling both the Senate and House of Representatives. At the time of writing the Senate is already majority Republican and the House is within shooting distance of being so.
If he has a majority in both institutions, the liberal global anti-nation state brigade will be in for a massive shock.
And here why all this is good for the UK.
There is a sporting chance the self harming socialist orthodoxy that has gripped us will be ditched. We will have little option but to take Trump’s lead or risk collapsing.
The only way to cope with a supercharged America, which is surely what the US would become, is for us also to supercharge the UK. We must do as he does. It would not just once again be respectable to champion the UK, we would have to do so.
For the first time in years there may be a chance of stopping mass migration, maximising use of our resources in the North Sea, cutting red tape and taxes, paring back the State, improving our defences and unashamedly promoting British interests.
There is also one other massive potential win: if Sadiq Khan keeps his promise to leave the country following a Trump win, we would be rid of a truly wretched person.
Who knows, Lammy, Yusaf and others might also join him!
