Meet the man Trump is betting the farm on - Kelvin MacKenzie

If you think Donald Trump is beyond famous right now I absolutely guarantee to you that within a matter of months the name Tom Homan will be at least as familiar.
Tom who? You won’t be saying that in the near future as it will be Mr Homan’s job from late January to literally kick out, throw out, eject, fly out 11 million illegal migrants currently living in the United States.
Tom Homan will be spearheading Donald Trump's immigration plan

How he performs will define Trump’s four years in the White House. His semi-official title from Trump is Border Czar. An article in the Washington Post some years back said of him; ‘’He deports people - and he’s good at it.’’
He is the perfect man to carry out Trump’s policy. Having secured a criminal justice degree from college he became a police officer and then moved onto the immigration service where he has literally spent the last four decades. What he doesn’t know about illegal migration isn’t worth knowing.
Starting at the bottom as a border agent for the US Immigration and Custom Enforcement department (ICE) he worked his way through the ranks to become Director. As he says himself: ‘’I didn’t ask them to do anything I wouldn’t do myself, because I was one of them.’’
Clearly Trump is betting the farm on Homan. After all he was the man who thought separating the illegal migrants from their children would focus the minds. And it did.
The size and scale of the illegal migrant issue on the southern borders of the United States dwarfs any problem we have here although it must be said it has been estimated there are a million illegals in the United Kingdom and yet it’s a subject no politician raises or appears to worry.
Our problem is that we could not hire a Homan to deal with our problem. Starmer wanders the world talking to the good and the great about all kinds of worthy subjects like climate change and assisted dying but hardly ever focuses on the issue which upsets so many voters – illegal immigration.
There are only two things people care about in the US and the UK; Securing our borders and creating an economic climate where the people can feel wealthier.
Since Starmer has proved he is totally incapable of doing anything but taxing people rather than encouraging them his only hope of success is by ending illegal immigration.
But he won’t do it. He would rather shoot himself than hire a guy like Homan. All he ever talks about is ‘’smashing the gangs’’ and yet 32,000 illegals have arrived by boats this year, 22% up on last year. You would have thought that was a big number and something had to be done.
But no. All Starmer says is the answer is ‘’smash the gangs’’. That is impossible. Most of the gangs are in the Middle East and unless we send in the SAS, which personally I think is a great idea, then nothing will be achieved.
The political uproar were Starmer or Badenoch to hire Homan would be of epic scale. But were we able to end this flood of people – many from cultural backgrounds who will never mingle with the UK population- the row would be worth it.
That is never going to happen. Which means we will look across the pond as Homan tackles this huge and growing global problem and wish him luck. And wish he was here.
