The first Saturday of December is the most popular day for Britons to buy and decorate their Christmas tree.
A third of all households are expected to buy and decorate their tree today, December 7.
Meanwhile the following Saturday has proven to be the second most popular time with the third weekend just behind.
Ten per cent of Britons beat the rush and put their tree and decorations up in November however.
Some however go to the other extreme and wait until Christmas Eve before buying their tree, with one in 50 trying to save money that way.
Over half of the country said they prefer an artificial Christmas tree, whilst a third commit to a real one.
And as much as 14 per cent said they don't buy a tree or decorations at all.
