The Labour Party appears to have turned Birmingham into a putrid bio-hazard.

There is an ongoing bin strike that has left the city looking like a giant rubbish dump. The council is getting stick, the unions are getting stick...but what on earth are the local MPs doing? Today I went to Birmingham, to see what people think of their local MPs...

I then went to Tahir Ali's constituency. Mr Ali is the MP for Birmingham Hall Green and Mosely, but he's spoken in Parliament about Gaza, about introducing a blasphemy law into Britain, and about building a brand-new international airport in Mirpur, Pakistan.

But I wondered what his own constituency looked like, and if his own constituents really knew who he was

I then went to see what was going on in Justice Minister Shabana Mahmood's constituency. It was, to be blunt, smelly and awful.

Those MPs may say this is an issue involving the local council and the unions. Many other people might say: If you knew your constituency looked like that, and your constituents were living in that kind of filth...should you not be doing more to sort it out, and perhaps, in the case of Mr Ali, be doing a little bit less work on a new airport in Pakistan.
