OPINION: Israel has the right to deport who it wants and they won't give a stuff what David Lammy has to say about it, says Carole Malone.

I’m not sure why everyone’s getting their knickers in a twist about the fact two Labour MP’s have been denied entry into Israel screaming that it’s a massive diplomatic error on Israel’s part.

Why is it? Israel – like any country – has the right to ban people it doesn’t want. And Israel didn’t want these two. Why? Because both of them - Abtisam Mohammed and Yuan Yang - both have form for being anti-Israel. Both have spoken out vociferously about Israel’s actions re Palestine and both have repeatedly called for boycotts and sanctions against the country.

Mohammed has gone even farther and publicly accused Israel of “ethnically cleansing” Palestinians.

So why the Hell should these women be allowed into a country for the sole purpose of gathering toxic information - maybe even misinformation – and then spreading it on their return to Labour politicians all too eager for ammunition against Israel?

These two women, who no-one’s heard of till now have said they’re “astounded that two Parliamentarians should be denied entry by Benjamin Netanyahu’s Government.

Are they really? Did they think they could openly trash a country and belong to a political party, many members of whom are openly hostile to Israel and have called for the arrest of their PM, and expect to be welcomed with open arms?

It’s no surprise they were deported. Yang, MP for Earley and Woodley, moaned it was vital MPs and peers were allowed to ”witness first hand” the situation on the ground in Palestine.

Labour should remember their dark history in antisemitism - Israel hasn't forgotten - Carole Malone

To hear this woman talk you’d think she was actually a “somebody” in Government who was on big important Government business. She wasn’t. She was merely part of a small parliamentary delegation.

But Israeli authorities believed both women had planned to “document the activities of security forces and spread anti-Israel hatred.”

Maybe they had evidence for that, maybe they didn’t. But still any country is allowed to deny entry to people it believes could cause problems.

Remember here in Britain when Trump was president first time round. The Left were desperate to ban him from coming because of stuff he’d said. There are some now who still don’t want him coming here.

But are we really surprised that Israel is wary of this Government and its MPs because the Labour party in this country has vile form for antisemitism and for supporting jihadists, hate preachers and terrorist sympathisers.

Remember the old bozo, Jeremy Corbyn, who once hailed Hamas and Hezbollah as his friends.

And just look at Labour’s vile history in antisemitism. Look at how many MPs have said and posted vile anti-Semitic bile. Look how many have been suspended ?

Look how in 2015 under Corbyn’s leadership Jewish racism escalated across the Labour Party and eventually resulted in an investigation and report by the Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) that concluded the Party had been responsible for ‘unlawful acts of harassment and discrimination’ against Jews.

Do we imagine Israel has forgotten that? So why the Hell would it want members of this Pro-Palestinian Government gathering what it believes would be toxic information?

When Keir Starmer became Labour leader he tried to kid usthat he’d stamped out antisemitism in his party whichwe know is a joke because it’sstill there and is more insidious than it’s ever has been.

Just last year Starmer was urged to suspend two Labour MPs who’d been present at a meeting of activists where anti-Semitic comments were made.

He was also under pressure to investigate five more that had been involved in controversies over Israel.

So, Israel has every right to be suspicious of Labour MPs and why the Hell should it for one second tolerate the toxic, partisan views of some of them in its own country?

The great pity here in Britain is that we’re not as fussy as the Israelis are about who we let in. We gaily wave through terrorists and jihadists to preach hate and violence on our streets here not caring how it might affect our security.

But I’m curious as to what these two wet-behind-the ears women MPs thought their mission was going to achieve? Did they really imagine their little visit was going to reveal what was really happening on the ground in Israel?

As Kemi Badenoch says “They should be standing up for Britain first rather than promoting Hamas propaganda in Parliament.”

She also says she didn’t believe the MPs would have complied with Israel’s laws and added: “MPs do not have diplomatic immunity.”

David Lammy, the foreign secretary, has lashed out at Ms Badenoch for “cheerleading” for Israel, after the two MPs were deported.

He said the decision to deport them “unacceptable” and that he’draise it with his Israeli counterparts.

Like they’d give a stuff about anything Lammy has to say about anything.

But Badenoch’s right: “I think any country should be able to control its borders, and that’s what Israel is doing, as far as I understand.

“They gave reasons why they didn’t believe those people should come in based on their laws. And it’s really important that we respect other countries enforcing their borders.

“Those Labour MPs, according to the Israelis, were coming in to do something that they were not allowed to do, and so I respect that decision.”

But Lammy hit back: "Do you say the same about Tory MPs banned from China?”

And Yes, talking of China, Ms Yang was born there and Mohammed was born in Yemen. In both countries human rights abuses are the hideous norm.

So how many speeches have either made in Parliament about that? How many fact finding missions have they been to in Yemen or China?

And can they explain why its Israel that makes their blood boil not the murders and massacres in their own countries?
