Police shot a "dangerously out of control" XL Bully type dog six times after it savaged three people and another dog.
Officers were called to the Calderwood area of East Kilbride in Scotland on Sunday morning following reports of the large dog attacking a Collie.
The XL Bully type dog was restrained by local police at an address on Mannering but after failed attempts to control the animal, armed officers were called in.
Reports on social media claim officers counted to ten before four loud shots were fired.

Another two shots followed which eventually killed the dog.
Police confirmed that three people were injured during the incident.
The state of the Collie - which is said to have been around 14 years old - and its owner remains unknown.
An investigation has been launched to determine the breed of the dog as a police presence remains in the area.

As with every firearm discharge, Police Scotland will refer themselves to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC).
"There was a huge police presence on Mannering this morning, the whole street was closed down," a dog walker told the Scottish Sun.
"I took my puppy out later on to the park around 1pm and they were still a huge number of them here patrolling up and down Alloway Road.
"It’s terrifying to think there was a dog out of control."

PAA Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10.25am on Sunday, 18 February, police were called to a report of a large bulldog-type dog attacking a Collie dog on Mannering, East Kilbride.
"Local officers attended and attempted to restrain the dog which was dangerously out of control.
"Armed officers subsequently attended and the dog was shot dead by police. Three people reported receiving minor injuries during this incident.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the breed of dog and there will be a continued police presence in the area while enquiries continue."
