Teen student found dead late at night in grounds of respected boarding school

A teenager was found dead shortly before midnight on Friday at the grounds of a respected boarding school, police have confirmed.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said the death was being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.
The 16-year-old girl was found in the grounds of Wycombe Abbey school in Buckinghamshire.
Reports suggest she was discovered in a wooded area near the school’s playing fields.

The teenager was a pupil at the £33,000 a year boarding school.
Wycombe Abbey headmistress Jo Duncan said in a statement: “We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of one of our students.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this difficult time.”
Support has been offered to all staff and students impacted by the incident, a spokesman for the school also confirmed.
A spokesman from Thames Valley Police said in a statement: “Thames Valley Police was called to the Wycombe Abbey School at around 11.40pm on Friday 21 April after a 16-year-old girl was sadly found to have died.
“Her death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”
Wycombe Abbey opened in 1896 on a 69 hectare campus which includes the Cold War bunker RAF Daws Hill.
The prestigious all-girls boarding school consistently ranks as one of the best educational institutions in the country.

Wycombe Abbey ranked eighth for A Level results in 2022, with 89.9 per cent of pupils achieving A and A* grades.
The school finished in sixth place for GCSE results, with 96.4 percent receiving the top two grades.
It has been reported Rishi Sunak’s eldest daughter Krishna attends Wycombe Abbey.
Former pupils include Dominic Cummings’ wife Mary Wakefield, CNN chief international correspondent Clarissa Ward and actress Sally Phillips.
