He called on world leaders to deal with issues using 'wise discipline'

The chances of a Third World War are “uncomfortably high”, Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis has warned.

Speaking on GB News, Davis said ongoing conflicts in Ukraine, Gaza and Taiwan are reflective of an increasingly unsettled world.

He called on world leaders to deal with issues using “wise discipline”, adding more widespread conflict is “not inevitable”.

Asked about the chances of a Third World War, he said they are “uncomfortably high”.

“I won’t say that they’re likely in any point, all of this can be managed with wise disciple and rational views”, he added.

“We can absolutely avoid it and have a good year, or we can act foolishly and potentially have unintended consequences and things could spiral out.

“I do have some worry about that, but it is not inevitable.”

He added that should the US look to intervene in the Taiwan-China conflict, he sees little chance of success for the West.

Xi Jinping has ramped up Chinese missions near Taiwan with presidential and parliamentary elections on the island approaching.

“We can’t fight a war against China and win”, Davis said.

“So we should be working with Taiwan right now privately telling them we’re not going to fight for you.

“We just can’t get into a war that could go nuclear, it would be foolish.”

Davis also warned Biden against continue to afford hefty sums to Ukraine in support of their war against Russia, but expects “some kind of a deal” to be arranged.

“But it’s not going to be anywhere near as much President Biden is looking for , it definitely won’t be an open-ended thing.

“The writing is on the wall. You’re seeing a lot less willingness because the first $100bn didn’t change the course of the war.

“There is no military path for Ukraine to win, and people are saying ‘it’s unrealistic to think just giving them more money is going to change the outcome’.”
