A Walmart worker was burned to death in a bakery oven, with her charred corpse discovered by her own mother.
Gursimran Kaur, 19, was found burned to death in the walk-in-oven at a branch of the store in Halifax, Canada.
Her mother, who worked at the superstore also, became worried when she hadn’t heard from her daughter in over an hour. The pair would regularly catch up on their shifts when they worked together.
She was told by other colleagues that the 19-year-old could be busy helping a customer somewhere because “Walmart is a superstore”, a GoFundMe page launched to support her heartbroken family revealed.

Panic mode instantly set in as it was unlike Kaur to switch her phone off, or ignore calls.
After another staff member noticed “leakage” coming from the bakery, and when she went to investigate, she saw the unthinkable.
“Imagine the horror that her mother experienced when she opened the oven”, the fundraiser, organised by a local Sikh society, said.
The page has so far raised over $67,000 (£51,629) for the grieving family.

Officers from Halifax Police were called to the scene about 9.30pm on October 19 to reports of a female “locked inside an oven in the bakery”.
By the time they arrived, the 19-year-old had been removed from the oven and was declared dead.
Halifax Police are investigating the case. Authorities haven't said if any criminality is suspected.
“The investigation is ongoing. We’re still working with Occupational Health and Safety and the Medical Examiner’s Office. We’re allowing them to do their part so there’s no updates at this time,” Constable Martin Cromwell of the Halifax Regional Police told The New York Post.

A Walmart Canada spokesperson told The US Sun that the company was devastated over Kaur’s death.
“We're supporting our associates during this incredibly difficult time and have provided access to 24/7 virtual care and will provide on-site support, including grief counselling,” the spokesperson said.
“Our store is temporarily closed. We are cooperating with authorities during their investigation.”
