A fire at a ski resort in Turkey in January killed 79 people

Two people are said to have died after a raging fire broke out at a ski resort and hotel in Turkey.
The blaze tore through the Kervansaray Hotel in Uludag, Bursa province, earlier this morning.
This tragedy comes just two months after another deadly hotel fire in the country killed 79 people at the Grand Kartal Hotel in nearby Bolu province.
The inferno started in the hotel's cafeteria at approximately 5:30am local time, according to Bursa Mayor Mustafa Bozbey.

Fire crews managed to bring the flames under control within two hours.
Television images showed the fire quickly engulfing the six-story hotel, which is located on the slopes of one of Turkey's most popular ski destinations.
Despite the rapid response, the upper floors of the building were gutted by the time firefighters contained the blaze.
More than 100 firefighters rushed to the scene in response to the blaze.

According to the Turkish Ski and Snowboard Teachers Association, former national skier Yahya Usta, 57, and his son, national skier Berkin Usta, 25, were both killed in the inferno.
Twelve people were rushed to hospital, with three people suffering from smoke inhalation.
Bursa Mayor Mustafa Bozbey told local news outlet Halk TV: "We previously determined that it was a hotel with deficiencies. We conveyed these to the relevant parties. It is a sad event."
The hotel's website described it as "chic and comfortable" with 167 rooms, 14 suites and 14 "rooms with a great view" of the mountains and ski slopes.
