Greater Toronto Airports Authority CEO Deborah Flint has said investigators will be working on the runway for a further 48 hours.
She told reporters to expect further delays before a full picture can be painted of the incident.
The plane, which crashed and flipped on the runway at Toronto Pearson Airport, will be investigated further after it is removed from the runway.
But Flint said those working on the scene currently need more time - and weather conditions could cause further delay.
