Toronto Pearson Airport has been placed into lockdown after a police-involved shooting around 7am local time.
Emergency services are in attendance at Toronto Pearson International Airport after the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) confirmed there was a shooting at the terminal building.
Local media reports cars could be seen lined up outside the airport, with roads closed in the approach to the terminal.
One eyewitness, Chris Rhind, told local media that he was grabbing his luggage in the terminal building when he heard some "loud, popping noises" in the distance.

SIU detectives are currently at the scene following the incident.
Officers for the regional police force confirmed an adult male was shot, warning passengers that delays would be likely through the rest of the morning.
A spokesman from Peel Police said: "This is an isolated incident and there are no known threats to public safety."
The officer involved, the spokesman said, was uninjured.

Highway 409 to Terminal 1 departures is closed due to a police investigation, Ontario Provincial Police said in a post on X.
The 900 Airport Express bus is detouring via Terminal 3 due to police activity, the TTC said.
Airport authorities at Pearson International told CTV News that there was a shooting just before 7am.
Witnesses said they heard what sounded like several gunshots outside Terminal 1 by pillars 14 and 15.
Named after former Canadian Prime Minister Lester B Pearson, the airport in the northwest of the city is Canada's busiest, carrying 50.5 million passengers in 2019.
It has long been associated with legendary Canadian prog band Rush, who have a song named after the airport's code, "YYZ."
Earlier this year, a Delta Airlines plane "crashed and flipped" at the airport's runway, leaving at least eight people injured.
