It's unclear what caused the explosions or if there are any casualties.

According to the website, the plant produces "special-purpose chemical products" for Russia's military aimed at "strengthening the country's defensive capabilities".

It comes after a tragic incident befell the same chemical plant back in 2021.

Six workers in a secret weapons-making section of the plant died after suffering “horrific burns” in a mysterious “explosion”, it is was reported at the time.

Nexta reported: "Explosions were heard in the Rostov Region at one of the largest chemical enterprises in the south of the Russian Federation.

"A fire started at the state-owned Kamensky Combine in the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky. Local residents reported explosions before the fire started. Workers were evacuated."

The chemical plant's management denied reports of explosions at the facility, local news agency DON 24 reported.

"All reports from unfriendly sources are untrue," a spokesperson said, adding that the plant is operating normally, and that authorities will do everything to ensure that the enterprise continues to operate as normal.

Earlier this month, a house belonging to the cousin of Vladimir Putin mysteriously burst into flames.

Video showed the fire engulfing the house belonging to Roman Putin, 45, in the city of Ryazan in Western Russia.

It is unclear if the arson was linked to opposition to Vladimir Putin or his war in Ukraine.
