The protest is understood to be in retaliation for the massacre at Baptist hospital in Gaza
Protesters have stormed the Israeli embassy in Jordan as violence breaks out throughout the Middle East.
Footage circulating on social media from Shehab Agency, a Palestinian news outlet, shows demonstrators sieging the building.
Shehab said that the protest was in retaliation for the massacre at Baptist hospital in Gaza.
Former Hamas chief Khaled Meshaal called for protests in front of Israeli embassies across the world after Israel's attack on a Gaza hospital that killed hundreds of Palestinians, a statement by the Hamas group said on Tuesday.
The Jordan News Agency has said a group trying to breach the embassy were unsuccessful and were removed.
Scenes in Ramallah are chaotic, as police fire tear gas and protesters throw rocks.
People can be heard chanting against Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas.
The siege comes after a strike was launched on a hospital in Gaza which has left dozens dead and hundreds more injured.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
The Anglican Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza was rocked by an explosion today, said the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry.
As many as 500 people are believed to have been killed in the attack.
The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have not claimed responsibility for the strikes.
The IDF has claimed the explosion was caused by a failed Hamas rocket attack.

Posting on social media, the IDF said: "From the analysis of the IDF's operational systems, an enemy rocket barrage was carried out towards Israel, which passed in the vicinity of the hospital, when it was hit. According to intelligence information, from a number of sources we have, the [GAP] organization is responsible for the failed shooting that hit the hospital."
Releasing a statement following the strike, Hamas condemned the blast as a "crime of genocide".
"The horrific massacre carried out by the Zionist occupation in the Gaza City's Al Ahli Hospital which left hundreds of casualties, most of them displaced families, patients, children and women, is a crime of genocide that once again reveals the ugly face of this criminal enemy and its fascist and terrorist government,” the terrorist group said.
"This also exposes the American and Western support for this criminal occupation."
