GB News members are being asked whether Zelensky should buckle to Trump pressure for peace

Former US President Donald Trump has launched a blistering attack on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, branding him a "dictator" on his social media platform Truth Social.

Trump, who returned to the White House promising to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict within 24 hours, is now leading efforts to bring peace to the region.

The 78-year-old former president has positioned himself as a key figure in pursuing a resolution to the ongoing conflict.

Trump stated that Zelensky should have sought peace earlier and agreed to concessions with the Kremlin.

Trump accused the Ukrainian leader of persuading the United States to spend $350billion (£280billion) on what he termed an "unwinnable war".

The remarks, posted on Truth Social, represent a stark departure from the previous administration's approach to US-Ukraine relations following Joe Biden's departure from the White House last month.

Zelensky has since fired back, accusing Trump of operating in a "disinformation space," after the US president intensified the confrontation on Wednesday.

The tirade comes just 24 hours after a US delegation met with Russian officials in Saudi Arabia.

Ukraine was not given a seat at the table, leaving Zelensky fuming about the ex-Soviet state not being represented in the first bilateral discussions since the 2022 invasion.

This poll is now closed. See the full results below and continue to have your say in the comments.
