Israeli forces have captured around 100 suspected Hamas militants after conducting a raid on Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released first-person footage showing elite Shayetet 13 troops storming the facility alongside tanks and armoured vehicles.

Soldiers were filmed moving through hospital corridors, concluding with an inspection of what appeared to be a weapons cache.

The IDF claimed weapons, terror funds, and intelligence documents were found inside the Gazan hospital.

However, the Strip's Hamas-run Health Ministry denied the presence of militants at the facility, asserting that dozens of vital male medical staff were detained instead.

An IDF official explained the necessity of checking medical staff, arguing: "A few of the fully identified terrorists disguised themselves as medical staff so we didn't have any alternative but to check the medical staff as well."

Gaza health officials also released footage showing damage to several buildings after the Israeli forces withdrew.

Local nurse Mayssoun Alian described the operation as "very humiliating", with men separated from women and taken away without clothes.

The IDF contested claims of civilian harm, arguing that fuel, medical equipment, and blood units were provided to the hospital, with electricity and oxygen supply also ensured.

Following the raid on Kamal Adwan hospital, Israeli tanks have pushed deeper into northern Gaza towns.

The Palestinian emergency service reports that around 100,000 civilians are now trapped without medical or food supplies in Jabalia, Beit Lahiya and Beit Hanoun.

This renewed offensive comes after the IDF had previously claimed to have wiped out viable Hamas combat forces in the area earlier in the year-long war.

As talks to broker a ceasefire resumed on Sunday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi proposed an two-day truce.

The plan also involves exchanging four Israeli hostages held by Hamas for some Palestinian prisoners.

Peace negotiators hope the temporary truce would be followed by discussions on a permanent ceasefire within 10 days.

Neither Israel nor Hamas have publicly commented on the proposal.

Both sides accuse each other of maintaining irreconcilable conditions for ending the war.

The conflict erupted after Hamas fighters stormed into southern Israel on October 7, 2023.

Around 1,200 Israelis were killed and more than 250 were taken hostage.

Following Benjamin Netanyahu's call to wipe-out Hamas, Gaza's Health Ministry has registered a staggering 42,020 deaths in the Strip.
