A Hezbollah commander has been killed in an Israeli strike in Lebanon, the IDF claims.
Ismail Yusaf Baz is believed to be dead after an aircraft launched an attack on the Ain Ebel area of Lebanon.
The commander of Hezbollah's coastal sector was a senior official in the military wing.
According to the IDF, the chief had planned rocket and anti-tank missile launches toward Israel from Lebanon's coast.
It comes after Iran threatened "severe" consequences to any further military action by Israel in the wake of Saturday night's barrage of drones and missiles.
The IDF confirmed that the two drones carrying explosives, hit an area close to the northern community of Beit Hillel.
Shortly before the strike, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for targeting an Iron Dome battery in the region earlier today.
However, the IDF have dismissed these claims as unsubstantiated.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Following the drone attack, it was reported that an attack had been launched in Ain Baal - approximately nine miles from the Israeli border.
It comes after an Iranian missile attack put the Middle East "on the brink" of full scale war.
The attack was in retaliation to a suspected Israeli airstrike on an Iranian embassy building earlier this month.
At an emergency UN Security Council meeting on Sunday, envoys from the two countries locked horns over the attacks - with Israel calling for sanctions and further retaliation, Iran claiming the matter had "concluded", and UN Secretary-General António Guterres counselling de-escalation.
Israel's ambassador to the UN, Gilan Erdan, called on Security Council members to impose "all possible sanctions" on Iran, adding: "The council must take action (and) condemn Iran for their terror."
Guterres, the Secretary-General, warned against inflaming tensions any further by retaliating against Iran, adding that the Middle East was already "on the brink".
